Today is Administrative Professionals Day

The existence of Administrative Professionals Day goes unnoticed by many, but those who are aware of it know that it exists.

On the Wednesday of the last full week of April every year, some of them post on social media or buy flowers and donuts for their employees.

Take a look at a few of the reasons why this holiday may be best avoided altogether.

Is Administrative Professionals Day an annual observance?
This holiday, like many others, has a long history that has faded into obscurity.

The National Secretaries Association was founded in 1942 to recognise and support administrative workers.

Birthrate declines during the Great Depression and the post-war economic boom contributed to a shortage of workers in the industry at the time.

In the 1980s, the NSA was known as Professional Secretaries International, and in1998, it was renamed the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
