COVID-19 to remain third leading cause of death in 2021

The third leading cause of death in the United States in 2021 was 19, according to a government study released on Friday.

COVID-19 was linked to 460,513 deaths in the US last year, up nearly 20% from 2020, according to the CDC.

The researchers looked at death certificates from January to December of last year.

They discovered that 2021 had the highest overall death rate since2003, with heart disease and cancer as the leading causes of death.

The report found that the overall death rate was lowest among children aged 5 to 14 and highest among those aged 85 and over.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 caused 111.4 per 100,000 deaths in 2021, compared to 93.2 in 2020. Ages 1 to 4 and 5 to 14 had the lowest COVID death rates.

While COVID death rates for those 85 and older peaked in 2021, they fell from 2020. Data show 94,884 COVID-19-related deaths among seniors last year, compared to 122,707 in 2020.
