CNN Business found that people drank more during the coronavirus pandemic than any other time. If drinking beer every night was your thing, it may have helped you cope with stress.
According to Elizabeth Huggins, RDN at Hilton Head Health, the 2020-2025 U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend consuming alcohol "moderately."
Moderate beer intake?
Huggins says beer has 60 to 240 calories per 12 ounces. Initially, this may seem harmless. Beer & snacks can lead to weight gain. Beer every night is caloric , causes lethrgy.
Its harm, drinking daily
Huggins says, "The more you drink before bed, the worse your sleep will be." Why? "Beer's alcohol causes gastric acid to secreted, cause heartburn.
It may affect sleep.Alcohol disrupts sleep cycles.
Beer every night's only upside?
Boyd says beer's hops & barley make it more nutritious than other alcoholic drinks. Beer contains vitamin B, antioxidants, & silicon, which may strengthen bones.
Plus, buying their cases may help a local craft brewer. But that doesn't make drinking beer every night harmless. If you do, follow it with water (or, better yet, replace that can with H2O).
