Naomi Judd was 'fragile' before her death, said Larry Strickland.

Larry Strickland was terrified of Naomi Judd flying alone because she was "fragile."

The Grammy winner, who died on April 30, flew solo from Austria to Nashville. Her funeral was the next day.

The 76-year-old said she was terrified of her mother flying alone from Vienna to Nashville on Sunday's “Naomi Judd: A River of Time” special on CMT.

The North Carolina native said Judd arrived in Tennessee "without a problem," sharing a message from a stranger he met on the flight.

"My life seems richer after meeting your wife, however briefly," the email said.

“I didn't know Naomi, but I can tell you she spoke highly of you and your life together. Rest assured she loved you and told a stranger on the plane.”

The letter gave Strickland "great, great pleasure and comfort," he said.
