Mourinho's Roma wins UEFA Europa League

José Mourinho called Roma a "giant club" with a social dimension and passionate fan base.

Roma won their first European title in 60 years. Mourinho's first season in Rome ends Wednesday.

Nicol Zaniolo scored in the first half and Roma beat Feyenoord 1-0 to win the Europa Conference League.

Roma's first European trophy since the 1961 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, a precursor to the UEFA Cup and Europa League. It's Roma's first title since 2008's Italian Cup.

50,000 fans at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome watched the game on giant screens.

Both clubs' fans clashed violently in Tirana before the final, and dozens were deported.

Dutch and Italian fans clashed with police on Tuesday, injuring 19 officers and 5 civilians. Authorities say a police officer was stabbed. Three Italians and two Dutch were hurt.

Flares were thrown onto the field and stewards removed a few fans before kickoff after a fight involving Dutch fans.
