For Warner Bros. Games' take on the Smash Bros. formula, MultiVersus now features the Tasmanian Devil (aka Taz) from Looney Tunes, Velma from Scooby-Doo, and The Iron Giant from the heart-breaking animated feature film of the same name as well.
Let me plead with you: I do not desire to face The Iron Giant. The Warner Bros. company.
Batman, Bugs Bunny and Harley Quinn, Shaggy and Garnet from Steven Universe, and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones have all been confirmed as MultiVersus fighters in a new cinematic trailer.
Iron Giant and Superman appear together in that trailer, making it all the more heartbreaking.
On Monday, Square Enix released a new MultiVersus trailer to coincide with the announcement that the four-player brawler will have an open beta in July.
Prior to that, a closed alpha test for MultiVersus will take place from May 19-27. Players who want to join the closed alpha can do so by signing up.
In November, MultiVersus was announced. Warner Bros. Games and developer Player First Games hope that by making MultiVersus free to play and featuring a 2v2 team format, they can set it apart from similar games like Super Smash Bros.
