Throughout their first-round series, undrafted guard Jose Alvarado of the New Orleans Pelicans has frustrated the Phoenix Suns.
In the series, he has 6.3 points, 1.3 assists, and one rebound. On the other hand, his defensive ability and energy have caused issues for each game.
In Game4, Alvarado snuck up behind Paul and poked the ball loose, committing “Grand Theft Alvarado.”
He also got an eight-second violation on Paul that helped him win that game.
The Pelicans lost on Tuesday and will face elimination in Game 6 on Thursday in New Orleans. Alvarado will need another strong performance to force a Game 7.
Due to his consistent performance, Alvarado became a fan favourite in New Orleans.
That's why he's been booed every time he touches the ball in Phoenix.
Despite the loss, Alvarado has become a great storyline outside of Phoenix.
