The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Chaz Lucius on a three-year
entry-level contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $1,325,000. In the 2022-23 season, he will begin his contract.
The Winnipeg Jets selected Lucius in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
His first season in the Big Ten saw the 18-year-old centre record 19 points (9G, 10A) and 23 penalty minutes in 24 games for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Lucius spent the previous season in the USHL with the U.S. National Development Team where he posted 18 points (13G, 5A) in just 12 games.
Internationally, the Lawrence, Kan. native represented Team USA at the 2022 World Junior Championships, but Lucius played only one game before the tournament was postponed.
