Are the account number and credit card number the same?

 Each credit card issued throughout the world will have a unique number, and no two banks will ever issue the same card.


An account number is personal to the cardholder, and it is therefore necessary to have this information when making purchases online.


What is the function of a credit card account number? 


In this number, the first six digits are the Bank Identification Number, which identifies the issuing bank. Check-digits are used to detect errors in the last digit. Nine remaining digits indicate the cardholder's account number.


Are the account and debit card numbers the same?


Different cards use different numbers. In general, debit cards have 16 digits on their faces, but the account number is usually 12 or 13 digits. There are 12 digits on this debit card. For one account, the account number and the face of the card use the same 16-digit number.
